How a metal coin is made
Struck From Steel, Finished by Hand
Five careful steps between your approved proof and the coin in your hand.
01/ 05
Cut Into Steel
Your approved design is engraved into hardened steel, in reverse, so every line strikes crisp.
02/ 05
Struck in Brass
A brass blank is struck between the dies under heavy pressure, raising relief you can feel with your thumb.
03/ 05
Filled by Hand
Enamel goes in one color at a time, between the raised metal lines, applied by a steady hand.
04/ 05
Plated, Polished, Checked
Coins are plated in the finish you chose, polished so the high points catch the light, then checked up close.
05/ 05
Made as One Set
Your whole order is finished together so every coin matches, then packed in its own pouch.

Can you design my coin from scratch?
Yes. Send whatever you have, from an insignia or a sketch to a reference photo or a few sentences, and our designers create the artwork for free. You get an estimate and a proof within 24 hours on workdays, and free revisions until it’s exactly what you pictured.
How much do custom challenge coins cost?
It depends on the coin type, size, quantity and colors. At 200 pieces, a 2.0" metal coin with color on one side is $4.37 each, a Quick UV coin is $4.26 and a 50 mm ceramic coin is $3.29. Prices include artwork, revisions, proofs, custom shapes, an individual coin pouch and insured shipping. Metal coins add a mold fee under 300 pieces ($150 for 2.0").
How does ordering work, start to finish?
Send your idea through the quote form or call us. We reply with an estimate and a design proof within 24 hours on workdays. Revisions are free until the design is exactly how you envisioned it. Once you approve the final proof and pay the final invoice, your coins go into production.
How long until I have my coins?
Metal coins typically take 3 to 3.5 weeks for production and delivery after approval. Quick UV coins take 10 business days or less after artwork approval and payment. Need them by a date? Tell us up front: rush service is available for an extra charge, except to APO, FPO or international addresses.
Metal, Quick UV or ceramic: which should I choose?
Choose metal for the classic struck coin with raised detail, enamel color and options like 3D, cutouts and special edges. Choose Quick UV for full-color, photo-quality art printed edge to edge on a short timeline. Choose ceramic for vivid color on both sides at a strong price on larger orders. Your designer will recommend the best fit for your design and date.
Soft enamel or hard enamel?
Soft enamel sits below the raised metal lines, so you can feel the texture. Hard enamel is filled and polished smooth against the metal. You can use one on each side of the same coin.
Do you ship to APO, FPO and DPO addresses?
Yes. We ship anywhere in the USA and to any APO, FPO or DPO address. Shipping is free on most U.S. orders.
What if something is wrong with my order?
Contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. If there’s an issue with craftsmanship, quality or delivery, we’ll resolve it quickly and to your satisfaction. Because every coin is made to order, we can’t refund a change of mind.

The Art of Crafting Custom Challenge Coins A Step-by-Step Approach
Challenge coins are specially designed commemorative coins, often used to signify membership or achievement within an organization. The art of crafting challenge coins involves meticulous design and production processes, where symbols, logos, and mottos are intricately incorporated to represent the unique identity and values of the issuing group. Here's a step-by-step guide to understanding the meticulous process behind making a challenge coin.
Coin Design Conception: The Blueprint of Custom Challenge Coins
The first step in crafting a Custom Challenge Coin is conceptualizing a design that embodies the essence of the organization or event it represents. This design includes key symbols, logos, and insignia that are unique to the entity commissioning the coin. Designing your challenge coin is a straightforward process, thanks to our versatile options and our expert team.
Coin Production: Bringing the Design to Life
Once the design is approved, it moves to the production stage. Here, the design is engraved and then struck onto a blank coin disc.
